  1. Overview


    BM88 is a dule mode bluetooth rf module which combines bluetooth version 4.0(BR/EDR/LE) specification. It integrates an on-board bluetooth 4.0 stack, 2.4GHz transceiver and RF power amplifier. With the BM88, designers can easily embed bluetooth functionality rapidly into any devices and provides cost and time-to-market savings as a self-contained module solution.

  • Transparent serial data connection over Bluetooth Classic Serial Port Profile(SPP) and Bluetooth Low Energy transparent serial data service
  • Automatic configuration mode for smart select SPP or BLE channel
  • Compact surface mount module: 14*12*2.0 mm
  • Operating voltage: 3.3v to 5.3v
  • Temperature range:-40 to +85 Industrial

4.4 UART Interface

The BM88 UART Pins UART_TX and UART_RX connect to the UART pins of the host MCU. It’ doesn’t use hardware flow control. The default UART Baud rate is 115200bps, it need update firmware if user need change uart baud rate.

 

4.5 Power

BM88 module embedded an 3.3 volt LDO regulator, the following figure shows an example power scheme using a 3.7v lithium-ion battery. Battery power is applied to BAT_IN pin, V3.3 is output pin.

  1. Application

BM88 module support transparent serial data, it can easily embed bluetooth technology into your device and commnunicate with Android or IOS mobile phone.

Note:
Host MCU send data to BM88, one time can send 511 byte at maximum.
